______________
Pattern Summary:
A plaid fabric within the confines of a knitted construction can have its limitations but also its advantages, like reversibility! This cowl is worked in the round using double knitting to create a double-layered, double-sided fabric with different plaid patterns on each face.
On one side, thin white stripes collide on a navy background, with a medium blue giving the illusion of dark and light overlapping, similar to Chilton plaid. The other side is predominantly medium blue with lengthwise white stripes intersecting shorter navy stripes.
Made using Sprout DK, which has great stitch definition, lending well to holding clean lines. Although three colors are used in this multi-sized project, each individual round uses only two colors at a time, making it easier than it looks!
Rory's Pre School Cowl pattern was written by Carissa Browning. Find it in the Gilmore Girls: Official Knitting Book or on Ravelry.

Sprout, our signature blend
We start with Domestic (USA) grown wool, from the wool pool, with a particular micron count that gives the yarn a soft handle, yet able to with stand common uses.
The wool is super-washed (or made washable) so you can machine wash it for easier care.
Combed for full worsted spinning to make it more durable, much less "pokey" fibers, with a thicker feel.
Nylon is added just to aid the durability, but with only 10% nylon (making it usable as a Sock yarn) it seems it's 100% wool.
An over-twist on the plying makes splitting difficult and makes the yarn stronger.
Sprout was designed by us with durability and flexibility in mind, with the unrivaled quality of an All-American made yarn, ready no matter where you take your project.
